Welcome to THE BOYCOTT MONSTER!!!!

This site is dedicated to US. Say that "us" like you and me or "U.S." as in the United States we don't care as long as you know we meant to include you - all of you. This site exists to promote the most powerful form of democracy - voting with your hard earned money.

The solution to this problem is the fundamental philosophy behind this site. If you don't give big greedy corporations your money, they won't have it to spend corrupting the system. Our goal is to share information about what's going on so you can make an informed choice and vote with your dollars. It's that simple, if you don't buy "it" they can't push "it."

This is not a new idea - not by a long shot, but what is new The Boycott Monster, an internet watchdog helping you stay informed about how 'big businesses' are abusing their power. What better way to introduce The Boycott Monster than to start with a boycott of Monster™ Energy Drink.

The folks at Hansen Beverage Company of Corona California have filed a cease and desist order against the Rock Art Brewery of Morrisville Vermont, over there use of the name "Vermonster."

The Boycott Monster thinks this is a good reason to stop drinking Monster™ Energy Drink and other Hanson products, but unlike corporate America, we wont tell you what to do. Below you will find articles and videos about whats going on. We invite you to read them and make up your own mind and share your point of view.

Hansen -- Makers of Monster Energy Drink Sue Halloween

!!- Satirical Posting -!!

"You can never sue too many people," said a monster spokesman in a men's room at Hanson headquarters. After being assured that they had enough money to buy a win in their pending law suit against Vermont brewery Rock Art, over its Vermonster brand, executives at Hansen decided that similar law suits could only help establish them as the one true Monster.

According to the Law suit, Halloween promotes a number of other monsters that could be mistaken for the Monster brand, "... several of the creatures from Halloween don't even need to be called Monster. Take Frankenstein for example, without calling him the "Frankenstein monster, he is just as scary and everyone knows who he is," says one Hansen top executive who goes on to say, "We are particularly worried about 'The Monster Mash,' this could easily be mistaken for a beverage."

When asked how he felt about the law suit Halloween was distraught. "I'm not like Christmas with seemingly endless resources. I've got millions of kids to feed and no real way of drumming up cash. Whatever change I get usually goes to Unicef and I cannot exactly pay my legal fees in 100 Grand bars now can I"

While they have not filed any other lawsuits Hansen already has plans for more lawsuits if this one goes well. "If this law suit goes well, we have plans to sue the 'Monster Ball,' 'Monster Mayhem,' 'Monster's Inc,' 'Monster.com,' and 'Monster Trucks'. We also plan on putting an end to those annoying Hanson's, but we consider that a public service."

This lawsuit is expected to cost children all over America a large portion of their Halloween loot this year, and in an already poor economy the cut backs are really going to be felt, thus forever making Hansen synonymous with the word monster, whether they win the law suit or not.

Hansen Beverage Company (Continental Enterprises) vs BevReview

BevReview.com

It appears that the Hansen Beverage Company has also engaged lawfirms in an effort to crack down on any discussion about Monster Energy Drink that they believe they can successfully litigate or at the very least try and make money on.

In March of 2007, Steve Tanner (www.bevreview.com), reviewed Monster Energy. In October 2009, Continental Enterprises, contacted Mr Tanner and "Continental has received information that you advertised and/or sold products baring one or more of the Hansen marks, or confusingly similar derivations thereof... ...Continental must demand that you discontinue your advertisement and sale of these products."

It would appear that Continental did not, or does not, realize that, BevReview.com is a website reviewing beverages. As such they discuss beverages. Based on the remainder of the letter it appears that to discuss Monster Energy drink, or any other Hansen Beverage Company product it is, in the opinion of Hansen Beverage Company and Continental Enterprises, necessary to get prior authorization.

If Continental is really working on behalf of Hansen Beverage Company then the PR Damage will be colossial as people will risk being sued for discussing with their friends a beverage they purchased at a corner store.

If Continental is NOT working for Hansen Beverage Company, then I believe Hansen had better get to work on protecting it"s reputation for not suing everything under the sun that touches it"s products.
